Father committed suicide on the day of daughter’s engagement, police engaged in investigation
Pratapgarh. Pratapgarh: When the wife did not come even after being invited for her daughters’ engagement, the husband committed suicide by hanging himself. Four months ago the wife had gone to Pehar with her four children. His wife had refused to attend the wedding, due to which he was under stress.
The matter is of Kotwali police station area of Pratapgarh. The incident took place in Basad village at around 8 am on Tuesday morning. Sub-Inspector Bhanwarlal told that Kesarbai, wife of Sukhlal (37), son of Bhairulal, resident of Basad village, had gone to Pehar with her children four months ago. On Wednesday, there was a program of engagement and wedding ceremony of the elder two daughters. He was stressed due to not being invited to the program. Father had left at 7 am on Tuesday morning saying he was going to work. Sukhlal committed suicide by hanging himself from an acacia tree on the way, a short distance from his house. On the information of neighbor Mohammad Asghar, the family took him to Pratapgarh District Hospital.
Where he was declared dead. After the information, the post mortem of the dead body was done after reaching the district hospital. The body has been handed over to the relatives. A case has been registered on the report of the deceased’s brother Kishore.
Mohammad Asghar told that he had been working as a laborer in his fields for 15 months. Every day at 6 am I call Sukhlal to run the water motor at the well. Did it this morning too, but his phone was switched off. After going to the mosque, he was going to meet Sukhlal in the field, during this time a noose was found hanging on an acacia tree on the way. After informing the family members, they called him to the spot and removed him from the noose and took him to the district hospital, where doctors declared Sukhlal dead. Sukhlal was troubled by his family feud.
Due to a quarrel, four months ago, wife Kesarbai had gone to Pehar with her three daughters Palak (19), Kanu (18), Kalpana (16) and son Krishna (14). Today there was a wedding and engagement ceremony of the elder two daughters at Sukhlal’s in-laws house. About two-three days ago, wife Kesarbai had informed on phone about the marriage of both the daughters and had forbidden Sukhlal from attending the programme. Since then he was under stress. Mohammad told that Sukhlal had also borrowed Rs 1.85 lakh from me in pieces.
That’s why he also mortgaged the house to me. There was an agreement for five months for this. He used to get paid Rs 8,000 per month to work as a laborer in the fields. Brother Kishore told that Sukhpal was the second among two sisters and three brothers. Was married to Kesarbai 18 years ago in Gorkhedi village of Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh. After marriage, he was living away from his family with his wife for some years.
