Father and son beat up jail guard together, case registered

Raipur. The police have registered a crime against the father and son who assaulted the jail guard who had come for the treatment of a jailed prisoner in District Hospital Pandari. According to the information received from Pandari police station, Lakhan Lal Jaiswal (31), posted on the post of sentinel in Raipur Central Jail since 2016, on Wednesday along with sentinels Devendra Kumar Rathiya and Rajesh Kumar Sori, jail prisoners Gopi Kishan, Rajju Yadav, Mohammad Kalur, Himanshu. Due to Gupta’s health deteriorating, jail in-charge Madhu Singh, Dr. Ajay Khandekar, brought him to District Hospital Pandari for treatment on the orders of Dr. Pranjal Pradhan.

At 12.30 pm, Nikhil Tomar and his father SK Tomar, from the opposition party of Himanshu Gupta, who is jailed in a fraud case, arrived and started abusing Himanshu Gupta. When Lakhanlal refused to abuse him, Nikhil Tomar threatened to suspend him. After this, the father and son abused and obstructed the government work and beat up the sentinel. When the accused pulled the collar of the uniform, the top two buttons broke. In the fight, the sentinel suffered injuries on his left chest and neck. The hospital security guard intervened and calmed down the dispute. After calling the sentinel posted at the jail gate, Junaid, and informing him about this incident, the sentinel lodged a complaint in the police station. Police registered a case of assault against Nikhil and SK Tomar.
