Farmers blocked roads, angry over stoppage of paddy procurement

Pakhanjoor. Hundreds of angry farmers have blocked the road in Bargaon due to the closure of paddy procurement centers. Farmers demand that paddy procurement from paddy procurement centers should be started smoothly. It is noteworthy that due to lack of transportation from paddy procurement centres, there is no space in the centres. Due to which the center in-charge has stopped the purchase. Due to which farmers are not able to sell their produce.

On the other hand, purchases have to be made by the last date of January. But now farmers are upset due to stoppage of procurement and are worried about the sale of paddy. Due to which hundreds of frustrated farmers have sat on the road near Badgaon Jio Tower today. Traffic is completely closed on Pakhanjur to Bhanupratappur route.

After getting information about the matter, Badgaon police has reached the spot. Police officers tried to talk to the farmers but this effort of the police administration failed and the farmers remained firm on their demands. However, traffic on State Highway No. 25 has been closed for the last half an hour.
