Farmer Perwala Sridevi lost Rs 5 lakh as herbicide ruined her 5.14-acre paddy crop in Dacharam

Perwala Sridevi, a woman farmer from Dacharam village, said that her paddy crop in 5.14 acres of land in Dacharam village of Nereducherla mandal has dried up due to herbicide application, causing a loss of Rs. 5 lakh. Sridevi told reporters on Friday that she had purchased the land in 2008 and had been cultivating the land since then, but she did not receive a new pass book in Dharani in 2018. She said that she had become suspicious after the title deed was changed without her knowledge and filed a petition in the court. She said that she was cultivating paddy after the verdict was passed in her favor in 2025. She said that she received a new pass book based on the same verdict.

She said that Kotla Sunitha, Kotla Venkata Reddy, and some other unidentified persons had sprayed herbicide on her paddy field on the 16th of this month. She said that she became suspicious as the field had completely dried up for the last four days and immediately filed a complaint with the police on the same day. She said that on Thursday night, the starter in the field was also stolen by unidentified persons. She said that she had filed a complaint at the Nereducherla police station demanding a proper investigation into this incident and justice for her.
