External Affairs Minister Jaishankar talks to youth on foreign policy in Bengaluru park

Bengaluru (IANS) | Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar interacted with the youth at a park here on Sunday. The minister, who is on a tour of poll-bound Karnataka, met youths at Cubbon Park on Sunday along with Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar asked questions from the youth on topics such as India’s foreign policy, the G-20 summit and the upcoming assembly elections in Karnataka.

The External Affairs Minister lauded the youth of Bengaluru for understanding India’s position in the world and the ‘game-changing’ foreign policy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Tejashwi Surya shared pictures of Jaishankar meeting the youth on Twitter.

Tejasvi Surya tweeted, “The youth of Bengaluru started off with a class on @narendramodi’s foreign policy at Cubbon Park on Sunday. PM Modi’s foreign policy is not far and dry. It’s also a hot topic in public parks.

Bangalore Central M.P.P.C. Mohan and important office bearers of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Bengaluru were also present.

The enthusiasm among the youth of Bengaluru to understand India’s position in the world, our leadership role in the G20 and PM Modi’s game changing foreign policy is impressive,” Surya tweeted.

According to media reports, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is on a two-day tour of Karnataka. He will visit Hubli and Belagavi districts after Bengaluru.

The External Affairs Minister will attend a meeting of intellectuals at a college in Dharwad. He will also address a gathering in Belagavi. Elections to the 224-member Karnataka Assembly are to be held on May 10, while the counting of votes will take place on May 13.
