Excise team took major action, Odisha 22 liters of liquor seized
Mahasamund. Action is going on against illegal liquor manufacture and sale under the direction of Collector Vinay Kumar Langeh. In this connection, the Excise Team Bagbahara conducted a raid on Monday. In which 35 pieces of deer imprinted pouches in a plastic bag, total 7 liters of Odisha State manufactured Mahua liquor worth Rs 1400 were recovered and seized from the possession of Rakesh Patel, resident of village Deori police station Komakhan and he was arrested on the spot. Similarly, during patrolling, Boirgaon police station Komakhan reached.
Where a person ran away after seeing the excise vehicle. He was chased but could not be caught. On reaching the spot, 75 pieces of deer imprinted pouches in a plastic bag, total 15 liters of Odisha State manufactured Mahua liquor worth Rs 3000 were recovered and seized. On investigation, the accused could not be traced. A case was registered against the unknown accused and the case was taken into investigation. In both the cases, non-bailable offences under Sections 34(1) a, 34(2), 36, 59 (a) of the Excise Act were registered and investigation was taken up. The action was taken by Circle Incharge Excise Sub-Inspector Vikas Badhendra in which Assistant District Excise Officer Deepak Kumar Thakur, Excise Sub-Inspector Mukesh Kumar Verma and staff had a special contribution.
