Ex-Chairman Deviprasad Criticizes Telangana Govt Over RTC, Demands Action

Hyderabad: Former Corporation Chairman G. Deviprasad said that all sections of society are coming out on the roads as a result of the state government’s misguided policies. He alleged at a media conference organized at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday that if RTC workers start a strike to implement the promises made in the Congress manifesto, conspiracies will be hatched to weaken them.
He said that during the KCR regime, a gazette notification was issued in August 2023 to merge RTC employees with the government, but the decision was not made on the appointed day due to the election code. He alleged that the RTC management did not call for talks when the RTC workers gave a strike notice on a total of 32 demands. He expressed concern that accidents are happening due to the temporary appointment of unskilled drivers for RTC buses.
He explained that 38 passengers were injured yesterday due to the temporary driver’s management. He said that the warning issued by the police in Tandur was malicious and that the police in the CM district were reminding him of the Emergency days. He said that the BJP was showing the cat’s paw on the wall over the strike.
Minister Ponnam Prabhakar was furious that Harish Rao was making false allegations that he was behind the RTC strike. Harish Rao made it clear that he would support not only RTC workers. He also clarified that he would support anyone who was in trouble. He revealed that it was only KCR who implemented the PRC for RTC workers. He suggested that the government should open its eyes with the High Court verdict on the Kaleshwaram Ghosh Commission report.
He demanded that the notices given for disciplinary action against irrigation engineers in the context of the Ghosh Commission report be immediately withdrawn.
