EPS condemns charging fees from locals for darshan at Rameswaram temple
Tamil Nadu : AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami has condemned the charging of fees from locals for darshan of the lord at Rameswaram temple.
He posted this on the ‘X’ site:
For a long time, locals have been using the traditional private darshan route for darshan at the Ramanathaswamy temple at Rameswaram in Ramanathapuram district.
In such a situation, the traditional darshan route used by the locals has been closed without any prior notice and from now onwards the Charitable Department and the temple administration have directed that darshan will be done only by paying a fee of Rs 200, which is against the worship rights of local devotees.
Devotees have also complained that wire fencing has been erected in front of Kashi Vishwanatha temple and Dakshinamurthy temple at Ramanathaswamy temple to collect darshan fee from devotees.
