Entry of new fronts in UP elections 2027, political stir increased from Divya Mittal to Nageshwar Rao

Lucknow. Now about six months are left for Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2027. With the elections approaching, the political atmosphere of the state has started changing rapidly. Established political parties like Bharatiya Janata Party, Samajwadi Party, Congress and Bahujan Samaj Party are busy strengthening their strategy and organization. Meanwhile, some new faces and new political platforms have also started emerging. The entry of former IAS officer Divya Mittal in politics, the increasing activism of Rohini Ghavri and the formation of a new party by former CBI director M Nageswara Rao have intensified the discussion about new equations in the electoral politics of Uttar Pradesh.

The most talked about thing is the political innings of former IAS officer Divya Mittal. While announcing her entry into politics in September 2026, Divya Mittal had described Uttar Pradesh as her political workplace. She had made it clear that at present she is not joining any existing political party and wants to do a new kind of politics by going among the public. However, no formal announcement has been made by him yet about forming a separate political party.

Divya Mittal has been a 2013 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre. He resigned after working in the administrative service for about 13 years. While announcing his entry into politics, he had talked about raising issues related to government system, public problems, education and basic facilities. He also indicated that his political campaign will proceed on the basis of participation of common people. In such a situation, political circles are keeping an eye on his next step before the 2027 assembly elections.

On the other hand, Rohini Ghavri is also seen becoming active in the politics of the state. After returning to India from Switzerland, she is continuously participating in social and political programs in Uttar Pradesh. According to reports, she is increasing her activism from western Uttar Pradesh to Lucknow. Rohini Ghavri has also been in the news a lot regarding the allegations leveled against Nagina MP and Azad Samaj Party President Chandrashekhar Azad.

The allegations made by Rohini Ghavri against Chandrashekhar Azad are currently the subject of controversy and legal process. Rohini has also approached the court demanding registration of FIR. These allegations cannot be seen as conclusively proven facts. However, her activism at the political level has definitely raised the question whether she will contest the 2027 assembly elections with any party or a new political platform.

Rohini Ghavri’s activism is especially being linked to the Dalit politics of Western Uttar Pradesh. Bahujan Samaj Party has already been the main force of Dalit politics in the state, while in recent years Chandrashekhar Azad and his Azad Samaj Party have also created their own political identity. In such a situation, if Rohini Ghavri formally enters electoral politics, then another new face can emerge in the Dalit politics of the state. However, he has not yet made any formal announcement about contesting elections from any party or forming a separate party.

Meanwhile, former CBI Director M Nageswara Rao has also entered the political arena and formed Sarvajana Sanatan Party. The announcement of his new political party has added another new front to the politics of Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2027 assembly elections. Nageshwar Rao has been an Indian Police Service officer and has also held important responsibilities in CBI. Now, after long experience in administrative and police service, he has chosen the path of active politics.

The picture of Nageswara Rao’s party’s election programme, candidates and organizational expansion in Uttar Pradesh will become more clear in the coming times. At present, the formation of his party definitely indicates that the competition in the assembly elections will not be limited only to the traditional big parties. New parties and new political faces will also try to make their place.

On the other hand, established parties have also accelerated their election preparations. BJP has increased its focus on organization and social equations, while discussions are going on between Samajwadi Party and Congress regarding seat sharing and electoral coordination in the assembly elections. Congress has also made changes in the Uttar Pradesh organization.

It is not easy for new political parties to build a strong organization in a big state like Uttar Pradesh. To win elections, a team of workers, candidates, resources and constant public relations are required up to the booth level. Despite this, the presence of new faces can make the political contest on many seats multi-angled.

At present Divya Mittal, Rohini Ghavri and M Nageswara Rao are in discussion as three different political streams. The picture of which of these organizations is so strong and who enters the election field in what form will become clear in the coming months. It is certain that before the 2027 assembly elections, new political experiments and activities of new fronts are seen increasing continuously in the politics of Uttar Pradesh.
