Election Commission made special preparations for Lok Sabha elections

Dehradun: The Election Commission has made special preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Special focus has been laid on increasing the participation of more than 83 lakh voters in the elections, so this time social media will be closely monitored with the help of Artificial Intelligence.
The first phase of inspection of about 25 thousand EVMs and 20 thousand VVPATs for the elections has also been completed. This time there are a total of 83 lakh 36 thousand 780 voters in the Lok Sabha elections, including 82 lakh 43 thousand 423 voters and 93 thousand 357 service voters. In the last election their number was 78 lakh 56 thousand 268. For these, 11 thousand 729 polling places have been created in the state.
Focus also on increasing voting percentage
After completion of the first phase inspection of all EVMs and VVPATs by the Election Office before their use in elections, now the second phase inspection will be conducted in front of election observers. Training of personnel operating these machines is being started. Now all the social media accounts are being monitored by the Election Commission with the help of Artificial Intelligence, which will also include state accounts.
If there is any objectionable post on these, action can be taken including removing it or even blocking the account. This time, the Chief Electoral Officer’s office has also focused on increasing the voting percentage of service voters. For this, a special request has been made to all department heads and secretaries. District wise list of service voters has been sought.
Sensitive and vulnerable polling places increased four times
In comparison to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in the state, this time there has been an increase of almost four times in the number of sensitive and hypersensitive polling places. In the last elections, there were 1904 such polling stations in the state, whose number has increased to 8,780. In the last election, there were 1,200 sensitive and 704 highly sensitive polling stations, whereas this time there are 7,200 sensitive and 1580 highly sensitive polling stations.
