Elderly jailed for so many years for raping a minor

Hyderabad: The III Additional District Judge who is the Judge for the Fast Track Trial of Rape and Pocso cases at Kukatpally sentenced a 65-year-old man, Vakiti Madhav, of attempting to sexually assault a seven-year-old girl at Jagathgirigutta in January 2022, and sentenced him to imprisonment for four years as well as a fine of `2,000 fine on him.

The court during the trial examined the victim, who was then aged seven, her parents and other witnesses. Besides, the judge examined CCTV footage which showed the girl and the accused going to the accused’s home.

The victim identified the accused said that Madhav had offered to buy chocolate for her, took her into his house and attempted to sexually assault her.

A statement said Jagathgirigutta sub-inspector Lingam investigated the case and it was argued by public prosecutor P Nageshwara Rao.
