Effect of brokers’ strike in the market
Kurukshetra. After the order to deposit advance market fees in Haryana, the mobilized commission agents have gone on strike in the mandis. The widespread impact of this strike has been seen on the prices of vegetables and fruits. If we talk about Kurukshetra district, the prices here have increased almost four times.
Vegetables have disappeared from people’s plates. The general public and street vendors in the markets are very upset due to this strike. He says that the commission agents are acting arbitrarily. Vineet Saini, a vegetable vendor, said that the gate of the vegetable market was closed by the traders who deal in vegetables on a large scale in the market.
Due to which their present day livelihood has died. Farmers Sitaram and Naresh, who came to sell vegetables, said that there are many vegetables like mushrooms and peas, which are plucked and sold every day. He has also accused the vegetable traders of acting arbitrarily.
Local resident Pawan Kumar said that due to the strike in the vegetable market, the prices of vegetables have increased four times. Agent Jagdish said that due to increase in market fees, all the vegetable markets of Haryana are closed.
