Tamil Nadu: Chief Minister Stalin criticized Edappadi Palaniswami, saying he has become a branch secretary of the BJP.
Speaking at the DMK Youth Wing Southern Zone Executives meeting in Virudhunagar on Saturday, he said that our government is working to ensure that every family in Tamil Nadu benefits from at least one scheme. Funds for women’s rights to recognize the hard work of women! Free morning travel for them to travel freely! Hostels in every district for the safety of women working away from their hometowns! Innovative schemes for women, and for Tamil children, who will receive a thousand rupees every month upon admission to college for government school students! New factories in all districts! This will create millions of jobs! To get those jobs, I am the Chief Minister, and I am providing skill training! Infrastructure facilities such as hospitals, bus stands, libraries, roads, flyovers, and drinking water projects have been built across the state.
You can say… no other state in India has so many projects; there won’t be so many beneficiaries! Only Tamil Nadu is equal to Tamil Nadu! No matter which field the central government gives awards to states, Tamil Nadu wins!
Even though we are ‘number one’ in everything, when it comes to the budget, we have nothing! Considering this year’s elections, we expected them to pull some ‘election stunts’! In the end, even that didn’t happen. As always, it’s just a mess!
What do we keep asking from Tamil Nadu? Give us our rightful funds for education, give us metro funds, give us disaster relief funds, give us funds for the Jal Jeevan Project, give us new rail projects, give us approval for the Hosur airport, give us 50 percent of the tax revenue, give us exemption from NEET, build the Madurai AIIMS, give us a vote in Parliament ensuring that the size of Tamil Nadu’s constituencies will not be reduced in the delimitation process, give us the Keezhadi report—we are demanding all this, give it to us! But they gave us only zero! So we too should give them the same in the elections. Not just the BJP, but the entire NDA alliance should get zero in the assembly elections, just like in the 2024 parliamentary elections! Instead of raising his voice against the central government that says zero for Tamil Nadu, Leader of the Opposition Palaniswami has become a branch secretary of the BJP. Edappadi Palaniswami has now completely become NDA Palaniswami! As if to say, “I too am a goon, I too am a goon,” he stands before the microphone and says, “I am the leader of the alliance, I am the leader of the alliance.” He’s not saying it… he’s begging!
In this situation, he has now announced a different struggle. We will stop the 125-day work program brought in by the BJP government. We will fight for this. Did he even read anything about that law before? Can he tell me the name of that law? If so, why didn’t he mention it in his statement? When 100 days of work was a right, the BJP government didn’t even give 50 days of work! How will they give 125 days now? What does this mean? Now the state government has changed it to giving 40 percent of the funds. Does Palaniswami know all this or not? Without knowing which law it is or what amendments have been made, he has announced that if he comes to power, he will make it 150 days. Palaniswami has now become a laborer who has outdone himself. Look at the design of their alliance. After Amma Jayalalithaa’s death, they first thought of making Sasikala the Chief Minister. When that didn’t work out, they brought in Palaniswami in Koovathur. Palaniswami then expelled the very people who had given him the position! In the last election, they all contested separately. Now, half of them have come back and joined the BJP. They are not forming an alliance for the welfare of the people. They are simply playing ‘musical chairs’ among themselves.
The upcoming election is Tamil Nadu versus the NDA! We have to ensure Tamil Nadu wins this! Losing in Tamil Nadu is nothing new for the BJP! It’s as routine for them as the sun rising every morning! But, the BJP and the subservient AIADMK, who sell their self-respect for their own selfish interests and serve Delhi, are going to face a defeat even bigger than any they have experienced before. The DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance is going to achieve a victory even greater than any it has achieved so far.
We will make a developed Tamil Nadu an even better Tamil Nadu. We will make a developed Tamil Nadu an even more progressive Tamil Nadu. For this, the youth must put in their best efforts. You will surely reap the rewards of your efforts!
