Durg city was immersed in the devotion of Lord Shiva

Durg news. A fair of Shiv devotees was seen on the banks of Shivnath river. Thousands of people in different groups took water from Shivnath river and went to offer it to Lord Bhole Baba. Kanwar Yatra was organized on the last Amavasya of Adhik Maas in Satticoura on Saturday. The yatra started from the ghat of Sewan river in the morning and reached Sattiswar Mahadev temple at 11 am. Gopal Sharma said that after reaching Shivnath river in the morning, all the devotees performed puja-archana as per rituals. After filling the Kanwar with river water, all the devotees reached Sattiswar Mahadev temple Satticoura on foot. Abhishek and Aarti were organized here.

Flowers were showered on Shiv devotees at various places. Kanwar pilgrims kept chanting Har-Har Mahadev, Ghar Ghar Mahadev and Shri Shivaay Namastubhyam. The special thing about the Kanwar Yatra of Ganjpara was that in this Kanwar Yatra, more than 20 small children whose age is 4 to 6 years, walked on foot from the Shivnath river bank to Satticoura with Kavad and reached Sattishwar Mahadev and offered water, and kept dancing all the way.

Preparations were being made for the Kanwar Yatra 2-3 days in advance. Yogendra Sharma Bunty said, while the purpose of the Kanwar Yatra is the upliftment of the Shivnath river, the life-giving river of Durg city, there is also a special significance of offering water to Lord Shiva with a Kanwar on Amavasya in the holy month of Sawan. He said that the union of Amavasya of Adhik Maas and Sawan is a very divine combination. On this wonderful coincidence, the different Kanwar Yatras that started in the city are a flood of devotion. All the devotees have offered at least one lota of water to the Shivling located in their village, city and homes today.
