Due to dense fog, many vehicles collided with each other in Hapur district on Delhi-Lucknow highway.
Hapur: Due to low visibility amid dense fog in Delhi-NCR on Wednesday morning, several vehicles collided on the Delhi-Lucknow highway in Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh.
According to the information, about half a dozen vehicles including two big trucks collided one after the other, in which a police officer was also reported injured.
Police officers reached the incident site and started rescue operations with the help of a crane.
The national capital as well as the entire North Indian region remained in the grip of severe cold and fog on Wednesday, with Delhi recording a minimum temperature of 10 degrees Celsius.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), very dense fog was recorded in isolated areas of Punjab, Haryana and Delhi on Wednesday, while moderate fog was observed in isolated parts of western Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, dense fog blanketed the national capital causing visibility problems.
Many flights to or from the national capital were delayed or canceled due to the prevailing weather.
Earlier on Tuesday, a similar situation was witnessed when dense fog engulfed the national capital and large parts of North India, significantly affecting visibility and disrupting flight and train services.
