Dubai striving for 100% punctuality

Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, revealed that the Dubai Metro has carried over 2.4 billion passengers in 4.3 million trips, with a punctuality rate of 99.7 per cent. Speaking on his X account, Sheikh Mohammed emphasised that Dubai strives for 100 per cent punctuality. “It has been 15 years since the Dubai Metro began operating, and it has carried 2.4 billion passengers in 4.3 million trips, with a punctuality rate of 99.7 per cent. We strive for 100 per cent,” the Vice President wrote on X. “Punctuality is more than a culture; it is a virtue and a core part of our culture,” Sheikh Mohammed said.

“The Dubai Metro exemplifies our city’s commitment to quality, punctuality and providing the best environment to live and work globally. Thank you to all Dubai Metro employees for upholding these values.” On his X account on Sunday, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and UAE Minister of Defence, also posted: “Guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, Dubai Metro began its remarkable journey of excellence on 9/9/2009. The first project of its kind in the region, Dubai Metro has set global records. Starting from 20,000 passengers per day, the Metro’s ridership has grown steadily and now serves over 730,000 passengers daily.” He added: “The Dubai Metro reflects the emirate’s ethos of quality, decisive leadership and the ability to swiftly execute mega projects. Many thanks to the RTA team for their initiatives, which continue to cement Dubai’s position as a global model for sustainable transport.”
