Drunk people drove bike at high speed, old man died

Durg. In Bhilai’s most posh Smriti Nagar area, two drunk bike riders hit an elderly man riding a moped. The elderly man died on the spot in the accident. Smriti Nagar police arrested the accused before they could escape. Bhilai Nagar CSP Satya Prakash Tiwari said that, on Wednesday, September 11, at 7.30 pm, two youths were coming from DPS to Junwani on a bike. Meanwhile, a 60-year-old man was slowly going from Junwani to DPS on his moped.

Both the bike riders had consumed a lot of alcohol. They were driving the bike at a very high speed in a drunken state. They hit the elderly man’s moped from the front. On collision, both the youths fell on the road along with the bike and the elderly man also fell away with the moped.

The elderly man died on the spot in this accident. He was taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital Supela by ambulance. There the doctors declared him dead. The police have arrested both the accused. One of them has been identified as Birju Kamde.
