Dombivli residents upset over marijuana den in Maharashtranagar

Maharashtra: Most of the places selling ganja, liquor and rural liquor in Dombivali West have been shut down due to increased patrolling by the Special Anti-Narcotics Squad of Deputy Commissioner of Police and Vishnu Nagar Police. Therefore, those consuming ganja, rural liquor and foreign liquor have now focused their attention on the ganja and smuggling den behind the old telephone exchange in Juni Bhoirwadi, Maharashtranagar, Dombivali West. There is an old telephone exchange office in Juni Bhoirwadi, Maharashtranagar. Behind this office, more than 15 ganja users and ganja smugglers camp in this area every night. This is an old den of ganja consumption and smuggling. This den is located in a busy locality and urban area.

The residents are mainly women and young girls who come from this area. Citizens of the area said that the ganja den is open without any fear. A local man runs this ganja den. Earlier, Vishnunagar police had taken action here. Locals said that the den became operational again two days after the action. The police have increased patrolling in Mankoli bridge, the bushes along the creek. Deputy Commissioner of Police Atul Jhende is suddenly visiting different areas of the city for patrolling at night. If he finds any alcoholic or ganja user in his clutches, he slaps him on the face on the road. Since this public event has been going on for the last two months, the operators of the premises have noticed it. Since most of the ganja consumption premises in Dombivli West have been shut down, ganja consumers from these premises are now camping in the area behind the old Bhoirwadi telephone exchange in Maharashtranagar.

Citizens are demanding that the special anti-narcotics squad of the Deputy Commissioner of Police conduct a surprise raid here at night and take action against the operators of this premises and others. A person named Machhindra Chiman Patil alias Machhya sells foreign liquor throughout the day from the open space of his house near a grocery shop behind the Hanuman temple in Devichapada. The area is crowded with drinkers here. At night, drinkers stand in queues and drink alcohol here. Fake foreign liquor is sold here at high prices. This causes financial loss to the government. The citizens of the area are troubled by this liquor shop which has been running for a few years. Citizens had complained about it. But the police did not take action to close this shop permanently, so this foreign liquor shop has started again, said the citizens of the area. The officers of the Excise Department are also not taking action against this shop. Due to this, the citizens are expressing their displeasure.
