DMK alliance parties’ constituencies to be announced today

Tamil Nadu: It is reported that the list of seats contested by the DMK alliance parties will be released on Thursday (March 26).

In the DMK alliance, 28 seats have been allocated to the Congress, 10 to the DMDK, 8 to the VVIP, 5 each to the Left, 4 each to the MDMK (with the rising sun symbol), IUML (with the ladder symbol), MMA, and KMMD (with the rising sun symbol). It has also been decided to allocate one seat each to some parties. Consequently, the list of preferred seats from the alliance parties was submitted to the DMK seat-sharing committee on Wednesday.

Tamil Nadu Congress in-charge Girish Chodankar, Tamil Nadu Congress President Selvaperundhagai, Congress Legislative Party President Rajesh Kumar, and National Secretary Nivedith Alva presented the list of Congress preferred seats.

Later, Selvaperundhagai told reporters: We have requested one seat in Chennai. We will send the list of constituencies to the All India Congress leadership and seek approval. I have not said anywhere that I will change my constituency. The Congress leadership will announce whether I will contest the election or not, he said.

On behalf of the MDMK, administrators led by auditor Arjunraj submitted a list of preferred constituencies.

Similarly, a team led by MMA leader Jawahirullah presented a list of preferred constituencies to the DMK team to identify two seats to be given in the alliance. Later, Jawahirullah said, “We have already asked for Papanasam and Manapparai constituencies, which we won, to be recontested. We have also asked for Vaniyambadi and Trichy East constituencies to be considered.”

The DMDK executive, led by treasurer L.K. Sutheesh, presented a list of 25 constituencies to the DMK committee. The Left has already submitted a list of preferred constituencies.
