Distribution of gas cylinders to schools and Anganwadis, now food will be cooked from this

Food is still being cooked on wood stoves in the schools, ashrams, hostels and Anganwadi centers of the district, the smoke from which has a bad effect on the health of the mothers, sisters working in the institution and the children studying there. To solve this problem, institutions are being made smoke free by giving domestic LPG gas connections to 4900 institutions from the District Mineral Institute Trust fund. Now nutritious breakfast and food will be available to the children in these institutions in less time. The above things were said by District Industry, Commerce, Trade and Labor Minister Lakhan Lal Devangan, the chief guest of the gas distribution program to schools, Anganwadis, Ashram hostels organized in the Collectorate hall yesterday on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.

Minister Devangan said that a large amount of trees are also cut to cook food on the stove by burning wood in the traditional way in the institutions. The ill effects of which can be seen in the form of environmental imbalance. Domestic gas connection in institutions will not only facilitate cooking of food for institutional mothers and sisters, but will also keep their health good. He said that the institutions of the district will get relief from the smoke emitted from cooking on the stove in the traditional way from the District Mineral Institute Trust fund. This will definitely give pleasant results in the coming time. He said that the amount for domestic gas connection is being given to the institutions from DMF fund. Along with this, the amount for the expenditure on gas refilling will also be provided from DMF fund. On this occasion, Minister Shri Dewangan provided gas cylinders to Vaibhav Lakshmi Mahila Self Help Group of Government Boys School Korba, Jagriti Mahila Self Help Group of Government Sada Girls School, Jai Ambe Mahila Self Help Group of Government Primary School Andhari Kachhar, Anjaniputra Self Help Group of Government School Mudapar, who prepare mid-day meals in schools. Along with this, domestic LPG cylinders were provided to Mrs. Rathbai, Kusumbai Budhwari, Jyotikapal Mudapar who prepare mid-day meals in the Pre-Matric Boys Scheduled Caste/Tribe Hostel Nonbirra Pali, Anganwadi.

Collector Ajit Vasant said that to prevent the adverse effects on the health of institutional employees, children and to promote environmental protection, a scheme of domestic gas connection is being started for the institutions to get rid of cooking with wood in schools, ashrams, hostels, Anganwadis. He said that 50 percent amount for food in ashram hostels is received as subsidy from the government. Along with this, the remaining 50 percent amount will be paid from DMF funds.

He informed that domestic LPG gas connections worth Rs 1.5 crore for 2100 schools of the district under the Education Department, Rs 2 crore for 2600 Anganwadi centers under Women and Child Development and Rs 13 lakh for 200 hostel ashrams under the Tribal Welfare Department are being given. About Rs. 3 crore 63 lakh will be spent on providing domestic gas connection to the institutions, the amount of which has been provided from DMF funds.

Keeping in mind that the institutions should get this facility for a long time, Rs. 4 crore for Education Department, Rs. 2.5 crore for Women and Child Development Department and Rs. 1 crore for Tribal Development Department will be spent for annual gas refilling, a total of Rs. 7.5 crore. The expenditure amount will be paid from DMF funds.
