Discussion on AI and Power Engineering at NIT Hamirpur

The Department of Electrical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur, organized the second international conference on power and intelligent control systems in hybrid mode on Friday. NIT Director H.M. Suryavanshi said the conference provided a platform for researchers, academics, industry professionals, and students to discuss recent advances in power engineering, control and automation, and artificial intelligence.

O.P. Rahi, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Ram Niwas Mahiya, Katam Nishant, and Pankaj K. Mishra jointly conducted the conference. Rahi said the conference received approximately 590 research papers from various parts of the country and abroad, and 95 papers were presented during various technical sessions after peer review and registration. The technical sessions covered topics such as power systems, power electronics, renewable energy, control systems, robotics and intelligent control, and machine learning. Professor N.P. Padhi, Director of MNIT, Jaipur, and Professor Asha Rani and Professor Vijendra Singh of NSUT, New Delhi, addressed the participants. Other keynote talks were delivered by Professor Sukumar Mishra, Director of IIT Dhanbad, and Professor Vidyadhar Subudhi, Director of NIT Warangal, while Professor Ujjwal Kumar Kalla of NIT New Delhi delivered an invited talk.

Professor Suryavanshi stated that the conference is expected to further strengthen research activities and academic collaboration in electrical engineering and related subjects. He further stated that NIT Hamirpur is continuously working to upgrade research and development programs and improve campus facilities.
