Dilip Vengsarkar was present in the prize distribution of the final match of Surat Cricket League-2023

Surat People’s Co-operative Bank Awarded Surat Cricket League-2023 was organized from 18 March to 9 April at Lalbhai Contractor Stadium under the aegis of Surat District Cricket Association (SDCA).

After a total of 28 league matches and 3 playoffs, the final match was played between Surat Strikers and Dumas Cricket Club on Sunday. In the final match, Dilipbhai Vengsakar, player of the 1983 World Cup winning team, attended the prize distribution programs for the winning team.

A total of eight teams namely Blue Warriors, Surat Strikers, Surat All Stars, Dummas XI, Shree Spots Cricket Academy, Parth Taks, Patel Sports Association and Surat Titans participated in this tournament.

Apart from Surat, five players have been selected from districts like Ahmedabad, Kheda, Anand, Gandhinagar, Valsad, Bharuch, Panchmahal, Banaskantha Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, which are under the aegis of GCA. While 17 players from Surat were selected in each team.

Each team played seven league matches against each other. Also playoffs were played at the end of the league matches. All the matches were telecasted live on YouTube. A total of 8942 runs and 429 wickets have fallen in this tournament in 31 matches. In which 733 fours and 354 sixes have been hit.

So far in this tournament, 37 half-centuries and two centuries have been scored. The tournament was sponsored by the Gopin Group and Larsen & Toubro for all the prizes.
