CHENNAI: Indian cricket legend Dilip Vengsarkar turned 70 on Monday, April 6. One of the finest batsmen of his generation, Vengsarkar won the hearts of cricket fans with his technique and wisdom on the field.
Beyond cricket, he played a key role in selection matters and ran training programs for young cricketers for decades. Furthermore, when the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) called upon him for assistance, he also served as an administrator, providing stability and direction to the organization.
Vengsarkar’s contributions were not limited to batting; he leveraged his experience in both sports and administration to pioneer numerous new initiatives. He is still honored for his career and social service.
