Destruction of cannabis and narcotic injections in the presence of SP

Manendragarh. As per the instructions of Inspector General of Police, Surguja Range, Surguja, a major action was taken against narcotics in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district today. In a total of 16 cases registered under the Narcotics Act from the year 2021 to 2025 in the police stations of Khargawan, Chirmiri, Jhagrakhand, Manendragarh, Kelhari and Janakpur of the district, the seized narcotic substance Ganja and narcotic injections were duly destroyed. Under this action, 7 kg 430 grams Ganja, whose market value is estimated at Rs. 80,500 and 131 pieces of narcotic injections, worth Rs. 2,600, were destroyed as per the authorized procedure.
These narcotics seized under the Narcotics Act were destroyed in the presence of Superintendent of Police Chandramohan Singh. On this occasion, Police Sub-Divisional Officer Manendragarh A. Toppo, Deputy Superintendent of Police Headquarters Tarsila Toppo, and In-charge Excise Officer Shashikala Paikra were also present. The District Excise Officer (MCB) team, including Sub-Inspector R.N. Gupta, Station Incharge, Chirmiri, Head Constables Sanjay Pandey, Lalsingh Pawar, Santosh Singh, Purushottam Baghel, Jitendra Mishra, Rakesh Sharma, Constables Deep Narayan Tiwari, Udaybhan Singh, Hirat Singh, Vinod Singh, Bhuneshwar Rajwade, Ajay Bhagat, and Prabhat Giri, were also present.
The police department stated that this type of action will send a message to society that illegal drug trafficking will not be tolerated at any cost. The police and excise departments are conducting a continuous campaign jointly to curb drug trafficking and crime in the district. The Superintendent of Police clearly stated that protecting youth from the clutches of drug abuse is our primary responsibility and strict legal action against such mafias will continue.
