Desai or Patankar in Patan Assembly? Who is the candidate from Mavia?

Maharashtra: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde broke away from Uddhav Thackeray and joined hands with the BJP in 2022. Shambhuraj Desai supported him in his rebellion. Uddhav Thackeray lost his life due to the rebellion of Shambhuraj Desai, one of Matoshree’s close aides. Will it be contested in the assembly elections now? It remains to be seen. But before that, who will get the Patan assembly constituency in Satara in the seat allocation of Mahavikas Aghadi? This is more interesting. Shiv Sena’s Shambhuraj Desai won from Yatikana in 2014 and 2019. Former minister Vikramsinh Patankar has contested from NCP.

In 2014 and 2019, Satyajitsinh Patankar, a close aide of Vikramsinh, contested against Desai. The politics of Patan assembly revolves around two families named Desai and Patankar. From 1951 to 1980, Daulatrao Shripatrao Desai represented Patna Assembly for three years and seven consecutive elections. In 1978, he contested from Janata Party. The remaining six times he was a Congress candidate. In 1983, Vikramsinh Ranjitsinh Patankar won the by-election here on a Congress ticket. After that, from 1985 to 1999, Vikramsinh won four consecutive times. In 1999, he supported Sharad Pawar and contested from NCP. After this, in 2004, Shambhuraj Desai made political progress. He won while contesting from Shiv Sena. In the next election i.e. in 2009, Vikramsinh Patankar of NCP won again. After that, in 2014 and 2019, Shambhuraj Desai established his dominance over Patan.
