Dera Bassi-Isapur railway crossing closed for five days

Dera Bassi: The Dera Bassi-Isapur level crossing will remain closed for repairs from July 15 (8 am) to 19 (6 pm). People from more than 12 villages will be affected due to the closure of the crossing. This level crossing is used by a large number of people including school children, employees, traders and milkmen on a daily basis. They will have to take a long detour to reach their destination, as the newly constructed Isapur-Bhankharpur causeway is open only for light vehicles.

Heavy vehicles will now have to take the route via Janetpur, Bakarpur Road. Chadiala-Dappar Road is another option for road users, though they will have to travel an additional 15 km. Railway officials said the track needs immediate repairs due to increased rail traffic on the section for the past six months.
