Delhi sees increase in Influenza B, Swine Flu cases ahead of Holi

As Delhi has bid adieu to winter, the Capital city of India sees a surge in flu cases just ahead of the color festival, Holi.
According to the medical sources and reports, the city has seen a spike in patients affected by Influenza B and H1N1 (Swine flu) viruses. Common symptoms of the virus include upper respiratory infections, high-grade fever, cough and fatigue that the patients have been complaining about so far.
According to the sources, a rise in influenza-like illness cases was registered over the last month. Moreover, the virus is a mix of – influenza A, B, H1N1, H3N2 and respiratory syntactical virus that causes lungs and respiratory infections. Some cases are so complicated that even tests are not able to diagnose nature of the exact virus. But, the medical department is sure that it is an influenza-like virus.
This virus is affecting all the age groups, children, adolescents, adults, and older people. It spreads mainly from children who get infected outside and bring it to home.
The surge in cases has also led in hospitalisation of patients with pneumonia, bronchitis, and sinusitis. This strain of virus is assumed to be COVID as a lot of patients require inhalers or oral steroids for getting relief. However, the medical officers suspect it to be a it strain mutation of COVID.
The solution to this is only anti-flu medicines and anti-biotics which everyone is taking, but it does not have any specific treatment. In case of prolonged illness, the patients need to get hospitalized and require adequate medical assistance for speed recovery.
Amidst the weather challenges, season changes and festivities, surging in such cases is something that cannot be avoided.
