Delhi News: 7 year old girl suffered more than 15 injuries in the attack by American bully dog in Rohini
New Delhi: In a horrifying incident, a seven-year-old girl was beaten more than 15 times by a dog American Bully after she was allegedly attacked in Rohini’s Sector 25 area, police said on Tuesday. According to reports, after this incident, society members started protesting against the increasing menace of dogs in the area.
According to officials, the horrific incident happened on January 9 when the girl was playing with her friends inside their residential community.
What did the girl’s father say?
Commenting on the incident, the girl’s father said that she was hit by multiple bullets in her hands, back, back of the forehead, thighs and under the eyes.
“On January 9, my seven-year-old daughter was playing with her friends around 5 pm. An American bully dog from my neighborhood suddenly attacked me,” Shrikant Bhagat told PTI over phone.
According to reports, the girl is shocked by this incident and has not been able to sleep for more than three days.
Bhagat, who runs a training center in Mukherjee Nagar, said, “Since the dog owner showed adamance, we decided to file an FIR against him as he had no connection with the pet.”
Protest against increase in dog menace in the area
After this incident, neighbors of the society where the victim lived took out a march carrying torches to protest against the increasing menace of dogs in their area.
According to reports, protesters chanted slogans such as “Stop dog feed” (feed Los Street Dogs), “Los perros be careful lovers, food is the life of children”. Children’s lives are in danger)
One protester said, “We are not against feeding dogs or keeping pets. Pet lovers should understand that these pets can be dangerous for children.”
The police have registered the case.
