Delhi Finance Minister presented the budget in the Assembly
New Delhi: Delhi Finance Minister Atishi is presenting her 10th budget in the Assembly on Monday. Finance Minister Atishi presented a budget of Rs 76000 crore for Delhi. He said that the population of Delhi is only 1.55 percent of the total population of the country. But then Delhi’s contribution to the country’s GDP is more than double. ‘Chief Minister Mahila Samman’ scheme for the women of Delhi was also introduced in the budget. Presenting the budget for the financial year 2024-2025, Atishi said that when we entered politics in 2013, people had lost faith in democracy. At that time leaders used to come and go. Governments kept coming and going. But people’s lives did not improve. The housewife’s money would be exhausted by the 25th of the month. They had to mortgage their jewelery to survive. Because of this the common man had lost confidence in voting. But Arvind Kejriwal came as a ray of hope and formed a government with a huge majority by giving confidence in honesty and truth.
He said that the population of Delhi is only 1.55 percent of the total population of the country. But then Delhi’s contribution to the country’s GDP is more than double. Delhi’s contribution to the average GDP of the country is going to be 3.89 percent in 2023-2024. Highlights of Delhi Budget: – ‘Chief Minister Mahila Samman’ scheme was introduced in the budget of Kejriwal government. Under this scheme, women above 18 years of age will get one thousand rupees every month. For the welfare and empowerment of women, Rs 2000 crore has been allocated under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana in the budget 2024-2025.
Education budget doubled. Delhi Finance Minister Atishi said that in 2014-2015, Delhi’s education budget was Rs 6554 crore. But we increased the education budget. We doubled the education budget. Delhi’s education budget for the financial year 2024-2025 is Rs 16,396 crore. He said that in the last nine years, about 400 principals have been sent to Cambridge for training. More than 950 teachers have been sent to Singapore for training. 1700 principals have been sent to IIM Ahmedabad for training. Kejriwal government has built 22711 new classrooms in Delhi schools since 2015.
Government schools were transformed. Atishi said that the government schools of Delhi have changed. Our government has developed every section of the capital in nine years. Poor families are getting free treatment. Now a child from a poor family can study in a government school. The condition of hospitals in Delhi has changed. Today children from poor families are moving ahead. Now the child of the poor will no longer remain poor. Manish Sisodia’s important role in bringing education revolution
Atishi also remembered Manish Sisodia while reading the budget speech in the Assembly. He said that if any one person played the most important role in bringing education revolution in Delhi, it was my elder brother Manish Sisodia. Finance Minister Atishi said that our government has allocated Rs 8685 crore for the Health Department of Delhi in the budget. – Rs 6215 crore has been allocated for government hospitals in the budget. – Rs 212 crore allocated for Mohalla Clinics – Rs 658 crore allocated for essential medicines in government hospitals – Rs 400 crore allocated for expansion of government hospitals and construction of new hospitals ‘We are all inspired by the life of Ram’ While reading the line from Ramcharitmanas, Atishi said that Delhi is blessed by Lord Ram. We all are inspired by the life of Ram. We are working for Ram Rajya in Delhi but we have to cover a long distance to travel to Ram Rajya. Lord Ram’s blessings on Delhi were such that there was no shortage of money for education and construction of flyovers.
