Police said on Tuesday that two cousins were found dead inside a parked car in the Narela area of Outer Delhi.

The deceased were identified as Vikas (42), a driver, and Bijendra alias Bhola (36), a plumber, both residents of Kheda Khurd.

Police said they received a report of a foul smell emanating from a parked car at the Narela Industrial Area police station.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) Hareshwar Swami said that after receiving the information, a police team arrived at the scene and found a white car with a Uttar Pradesh registration number parked on the roadside, with its windows closed and doors open.

The DCP further said that upon checking the car, police found two men inside and a foul smell emanating from the car, indicating that the bodies had been lying there for some time.

Three liquor pouches were also found inside the car, two of which were sealed and one was open. He said that during the investigation and checking of CCTV cameras installed nearby, it was found that the car had been parked at the spot since around 2 pm on Monday afternoon, and no one was seen entering or leaving the car after that.

He said that the car belonged to Rakesh Kumar (49), a resident of Kheda Khurd, who is originally from Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and had rented it.

Police said that no injury marks were found on the bodies, and initial investigation suggests that the deaths may have been caused by suffocation inside the car.
