Death toll in Israeli air strike in Syria’s Aleppo rises to 42
Damascus: The death toll in Israeli air strikes in Syria’s northern city of Aleppo has increased to 42. Earlier this number was said to be 36. Friday’s airstrike targeted a Hezbollah warehouse in the Jibrin area near Aleppo International Airport, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The Britain-based monitoring group said explosions could be heard in rural areas of northern Aleppo for about three hours, Xinhua news agency reported. Defense factories in the Safira area were also targeted, the monitor said. Unnamed Lebanese military sources told Xinhua news agency on Friday that six Hezbollah members were among those killed in Aleppo. A statement from the Syrian Defense Ministry said that at about 1:45 local time on Friday, Israeli forces launched airstrikes from the direction of Athriya, southeast of Aleppo. In this, many places in the rural areas of Aleppo were targeted.
