It has been a year since this campaign started, in which its positive results are being seen. Psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, peer educators, yoga therapists are available in the center to treat the beneficiaries and motivate them to live a normal life. Also, indoor games like carrom board, chess, cards, ludo, TV and speaker mike etc. are available for the entertainment of the beneficiaries. The beneficiaries admitted in the center are given training in electrician, sleeper making, incense stick making etc. so that they can be re-established in the society after getting rid of addiction and lead a respectable life. Earlier, there was no permanent arrangement in the district for de-addiction, due to which the family members had to wander in other districts, due to which they had to face financial and mental problems. The facility is being provided by starting the de-addiction center in the district headquarters, Balodabazar. The addicts are brought to the center by the family members, Sarpanch, police station, child line and also by common citizens.

Challenges for the employees – The employees have to face a lot of problems to get rid of addiction, which is also a challenge for them. Drug addicts get agitated and attack the staff anytime and administer medicines during treatment also becomes a task. If some medicines have to be given in the form of injections, then the doctor has to face adverse circumstances. Role of Bharat Mata Vahini- Along with the Drug Free India Campaign run by the Social Welfare Department, the drug free campaign is being implemented continuously in the district through the Bharat Mata Vahini scheme. Women of the Bharat Mata Vahini group are also cooperating in this campaign. The volunteer sisters of the Bharat Mata Vahini group are distributing literature related to de-addiction to the people of their village and telling them about the ill effects of drugs. Efforts are being made to bring continuous public awareness through wall writings as well as motivational posters etc. in every village. At present, there are a total of 128 registered groups in Bharat Mata Vahini.
