Dayanand inaugurated the 22nd inter-departmental cricket competition
Raipur. Raipur. On 25th February, at 06:30 pm, the colourful inauguration of the 22nd Inter-Departmental Cricket Competition 2025 was done by the honorable Divisional Railway Manager Dayanand at Secresa Ground, WRS Colony. The chief guest and other guests were welcomed in the ground with drums. Apart from Chief Workshop Manager MK Bhandari ji, Additional Divisional Railway Manager Bajrang Agarwal, divisional officers were also present in the inaugural ceremony. Personnel Officer Rahul Garg honored everyone by giving plants. This year for the first time, the mascot for the competition was kept as “Sparrow Bird” and with the slogan of Save the Sparrow Bird, the mascot was unveiled by the Divisional Railway Manager with the message of biodiversity conservation. After this, the chief guest was greeted by the captains of all the participating teams. Small children leading the teams as flag bearers was displaying a picturesque scene. To fill the players with energy, enthusiasm and vigor, a passionate motivational song “Abhi Aagaaz Hai Tera” was performed.
Senior Divisional Sports Officer and Senior Divisional Personnel Officer Rahul Garg, while throwing light on the 22nd DRM Cup 2025 Cricket Competition 2025, introduced everyone to the outline and other rules of the tournament to be held this year. He informed that a total of 20 teams will participate in this sports mega-contest running from 25 February to 13 March. In this tournament played on league and knock-out basis, the knock-out round matches will be played under floodlights. After this, Honorable Divisional Railway Manager Mr. Dayanand in his address
speech not only encouraged the players but also introduced the sportsmanship and advised to keep aside the win and loss and only entertain these moments. Also, without worrying about the result, he said that everyone should play thinking that we are the ones winning. After this, the trophies to be awarded this year, kept in the middle of the ground by Dayanand’s hands, were unveiled and the competition was inaugurated by releasing balloons. During this, a tremendous display of fireworks was done on the ground. The Divisional Railway Manager announced the formal inauguration of the 22nd DRM Cup 2025. In the end, Sports Secretary Deepak Pradhan gave a vote of thanks. The chief guest and other guests praised the Sports Secretary and the entire Secresa family for the wonderful organization of the entire program.
