Daughter of cycle mechanic motherless poor girl from Puri district excels in Odisha Matric exam

Kakatpur: Sonakshi Mohanty, a student of Artatrana Vidyapitha in Barang, Ananta under Astaranga Block of Puri district, has excelled in the Odisha Matric examination.

She secured A1 grade with 549 marks, ranking second in the entire Astaranga Block of Puri district.

What makes her achievement even more remarkable is that she lost her mother at the tender age of five. Since then, her father, Amiya Mohanty, a cycle mechanic, has been her pillar of strength, playing the role of both father and mother.

Despite facing financial difficulties and the absence of her mother’s love, Sonakshi’s hard work and determination have paid off. She attributes her success to her own efforts, as well as the support of her father, family members, and school teachers.

Sonakshi was studying 8 hours a day to her studies, and her diligence has made her school proud. With a goal to become an engineer and serve her country in the future, Sonakshi’s achievement is truly inspiring.

Her school teachers congratulated her on her success, celebrating it by feeding her sweets. Sonakshi’s father, Amiya Kumar Mohanty, runs a bicycle repair shop, which supports their family, including Sonakshi, her elder sister, and their grandmother, Nirmal Mohanty.

After losing her mother, Sonakshi’s grandfather, Nirmal, played a significant role in her upbringing. Despite poverty-related difficulties, Sonakshi’s love for studies remained unwavering, and her father ensured that she had everything she needed to pursue her education. Today, Sonakshi’s hard work has earned her admiration from everyone, proving that perseverance and determination can lead to success.
