The efforts of the rural women of Dantewada district under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (Bihan) are now becoming fruitful. Kamala started a grocery shop by taking a loan from the bank and is moving forward with confidence. In this sequence, Smt. Kamla Thakur and her family residing in Gram Panchayat Balud, situated 3 km from Dantewada district headquarters, were engaged in traditional farming for their livelihood. Then through National Rural Livelihood Mission (Bihan), she formed Divya Swa Sahayata.

Maximum 10 women in this group belonged to poor families and all the women were housewives. These women were given complete information about Bihan Yojana by CRP Didi. After joining the group, Kamla Thakur thought of doing small business along with household work and farming. Thus, with the thought of doing something new, she started a grocery shop by taking a loan of 1 lakh 20 thousand from the village organization through Bihan, in which her family also supported her and the loan taken by her from the village organization was also repaid on time along with interest. With this confidence, she has again taken a loan of Rs. 50,000 from the bank to expand her shop and is successfully expanding her business. Due to her self-reliance, today she is easily fulfilling the responsibility of her family. Mrs. Kamla Thakur said that her entire life has changed only after joining Bihaan.
