In the year 2020, on January 26, two different union territories were merged. Accordingly, every year on 26 January, Merger Day is celebrated along with Republic Day. Flag hoisting and parade salute: On the occasion of the 75th Republic Day of the country and the 5th merger day of the Union Territory, a flag hoisting and cultural program was organized by the Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman Diu administration of the Union Territory at Sally Cricket Ground.
