Cyclone Titwa weakens: Train operations resume on Pamban Bridge

Tamil Nadu: Trains are running again on the Rameswaram Pamban Bridge. Train services, which were halted as a precautionary measure due to Cyclone Titwa, have now resumed.

Cyclone Titwa, which formed in the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining northern Sri Lankan waters, moved north-northwestward on Sunday morning (November 30) and is near the coasts of northern Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and adjoining southern Andhra Pradesh over the southwest Bay of Bengal.

Due to the storm, continuous rainfall occurred in various parts of the state, including southern Tamil Nadu. The rains gradually subsided last night, bringing some relief to Rameswaram.

The rough seas, which had been rough for the past three days, have now calmed down somewhat.

Wind speeds have decreased. However, fishermen have refrained from venturing into the sea as a precaution.

Train traffic on the Pamban Bridge was halted due to continuous rain and strong winds. Now that the situation has returned to normal, trains are running again.
