Cyclone Titva: Rain to continue in Chennai and 17 districts for next 2 hours

Tamil Nadu: The Chennai Meteorological Department has said that due to Cyclone Titwa, rain will continue in 18 districts including Chennai for the next 2 hours.

Cyclone ‘Tidwa’, which was over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining northern Sri Lankan waters, was located 90 km east-southeast of Vedaranyam, 90 km southeast of Karaikal, 260 km south-southeast of Puducherry and 260 km south of Chennai at 2.30 am today (30 November).

It is expected to move in a north-northwest direction and reach the southwest Bay of Bengal near the coasts of northern Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and adjoining southern Andhra Pradesh today (30 November).

According to the report released by the Chennai Meteorological Department, due to this, light to moderate rain is likely to occur in Ariyalur, Chengalpattu, Chennai, Coimbatore, Cuddalore, Dindigul, Kanchipuram, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Perambalur, Ranipet, Thanjavur, Nilgiris, Tiruvallur, Tiruvarur, Tiruppur, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram of Puducherry and Karaikal districts in the next 2 hours (till 10 am).
