Cuttack RPF team saves life of Indian Army jawan, rescues him from rail track at midnight

Cuttack: The RPF team in Cuttack has earned praise for saving the life of an Indian Army jawan by rescuing him from the rail track at midnight. He had accidentally fallen from a running train and had turned unconscious due to the fall.
As per reports, yesterday night while Officers and Staff of RPF CTC were engaged for conducting checking to prevent crime and criminal activities and also safe and comfortable journey of the passengers, at about half past 12 in the midnight, the train No.12801 (Puri – New Delhi) Purushottam Express, arrived CTC Railway Station on Platform No. 01.
On seeing the uniform/RPF staff, some passengers of that train informed to RPF team, that one passenger who was travelling in the General Coach in this train fell down from the train when he was standing near the entrance of the gate.
After initial enquiry, IIC RPF CTC constituted a 02 RPF teams headed of each teams by SI, to verify the information and to conduct massive search between Barang – CTC Railway section.
During the search at around 02.00 am [winter mid night] of 16.02.2025, the RPF team noticed one male person fallen just before the starting of the Kathjodi River Bridge. Upon observation they found that the man was in semi concious condition while he was profusely bleeding due to head injury.
On seeing this, the RPF team interacted with him and shifted him to SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment. After treatment, today morning around at 08.00 hrs, he recovered from the injury. As the RPF Officer interrogated him he narrated the whole incident.
The Army jawan informed his name and address as Bidyadhar Singh, aged-39 Years, At- Dist- Sikar [Rajsthan].
Further he informed that, he is working in “Indian Army” & posted at Gopalpur, Behrampur in Odisha.
On the night of 15.02.2025, he boarded in train No.12801 from Bhubaneswar when the train was approaching Kathjodi River Bridge, he somehow fell from the running train when he was standing at the entrance of the coach.
As the RPF staff saved the jawan he along with his family members have highly appreciated the act of the RPF team. They are of the opinion that had he was not traced and treated in time, he could have died.
