Cuttack Mining Officer Rajendra Prasad Khuntia suspended

Bhubaneswar: Rajendra Prasad Khuntia, the Mining Officer of the office of the Deputy Director of Mines in Cuttack, has been suspended, Odisha Cabinet Minister of Commerce & Transport, Steel & Mines Minster Bibhuti Bhusan Jena.
Taking to his X handle, Jena shared the letter of Mining Officer’s immediate suspension and said, “The government had been keeping a close eye on the work of Mining Officer Rajendra Prasad Khuntia and as no improvement was observed in his work style, he has been suspended from work as a disciplinary action. Along with this, the government has kept a close eye on the work of other mining officers. If any irregularities are noticed in the work, the government will take immediate and strict action.”
“… the Governor of Odisha, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-rule (1) of Rule 12 of the Orissa Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1962, hereby places the said Sri Rajendra Prasad Khuntia, Mining Officer, office of the Deputy Director of Mines, Cuttack under suspension with immediate effect,” read the order issued by the department.
“It is further ordered that during the period of suspension the Headquarters of Sri Rajendra Prasad Khuntia, Mining Officer, office of the Deputy Director of Mines, Cuttack shall be the office of the Deputy Director of Mines, Phulbani, District Kandhamal and the said Sri Rajendra Prasad Khuntia shall not leave the Headquarters without obtaining the prior permission of the Deputy Director of Mines, Phulbani, District – Kandhamal and he shall be entitled to the payment of subsistence allowance in accordance with Rule 90 of the Orissa Service Code,” it added.
