Cuttack: Doctor of Badamba CHC in Vigilance net
Badamba: Tightening the noose around the neck of corrupt officials the sleuths of Odisha Vigilance a little ago today trapped a doctor of the Badamba hospital while he was taking a bribe of Rs 2000.
The accused doctor has been identified as Dr. Biswanath Adhek, Surgery Specialist of Badamba Community Health Centre (CHC) in Cuttack district.
As per reports, today i.e on 22.01.2025, a short while ago, Dr. Biswanath Adhek, Surgery Specialist of Badamba CHC has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe of Rs.2, 000/- as 2nd instalment of overall demand of Rs 5,000/-from a Complainant to issue favourable Post Mortem Report of his deceased son and with assurance to depose favourable evidence in the Court during trial.
As per reports, a few days back, Dr. Adhek has received Rs.2000 from the complainant. The complainant being a poor man and left with no option, reported the matter to the Vigilance Authority.
Accordingly, Vigilance officials made the plan and nabbed the doctor today while he was taking bribe of Rs. 2000 from the complainant.
The bribe amount of Rs.2, 000 has been recovered from the possession of accused Dr. Adhek and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Dr. Adhek from DA angle.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No.1 dtd.21.01.2025 U/s-7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Dr. Adhek, Surgery Specialist, CHC, Badamba, Cuttack.
