CS reviews IT reforms in collaboration with BISAG

Chief Secretary, Atal Dullu reviewed some of the collaborative initiatives taken by the UT Administration in connection with some reforms in the IT sector for the ease of citizens here today.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, APD; Commissioner Secretary, IT; Commissioner Secretary, Tourism; Secretary, Public Works Department; Secretary, Skill Development; Secretary, Grievances; CEO, JKGA; Apart from team members of SIO, NIC, BISAG-N, other concerned officers were also present.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chief Secretary reviewed the new interventions made by Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N) to make government services more meaningful, accessible and result-oriented. People.
Dullu asked the BISAG team to assist the Jammu and Kashmir administration in making necessary interventions in using latest technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) to make the government more accessible and responsive to the public. He appreciated them for the work done so far and asked them to fully implement the blueprint.
The Chief Secretary also urged the team to help in capacity building of JKGA staff for operation and maintenance of such improvements in future.
He directed to assist the UT in developing a strong centralized helpline to serve all public purposes. He asked them to make it a one-stop solution for all their complaints, requirements and information purposes.
He asked them to develop flood forecasting system, IoT based water supply information system, panchayat profiling for developmental purposes besides developing and synchronizing facial recognition system in our law enforcement machinery to streamline traffic and prevent other criminal activities here. Asked to assist the administration in doing so.
Subsequently, the Chief Secretary was briefed by Commissioner Secretary, IT, Prerna Puria about the status of various corrective measures taken in collaboration with BISAG-N. He said that this initiative has been taken in the light of the instructions given earlier by the Chief Secretary.
In its presentations, Team BISAG-N highlighted the progress achieved in building the Grievance Redressal Mechanism-Resolution. It was said that the updated system is a multilingual platform which will be based on AI.
It was also reported that the mechanism will be more responsive, real-time updates, instant acknowledgment and chatbot integration. It will have IVRS and video chat facilities for the public to reach higher officials.
The Chief Secretary was also demonstrated the revamped farmer empowerment mechanism based on Kisan Khidmat Ghar (KKG) ecosystem. The said system will have built-in features of farmer registration, sale of agricultural inputs, planning on boarding mechanism, advice, skills, expert consultation, digital marketing, decision support and development of smart phone applications.
It also discussed about development and creation of digital DPR and skill management in the UT. The said mechanism is going to take the help of AI and others to provide career counselling, job opportunities in private and public sector, self-employment and skilling and incubation to aspiring entrepreneurs.
