Crazy lover tried to slit girl’s throat, killed himself
New Delhi (IANS) | A 24-year-old crazy lover tried to slit the throat of a 19-year-old girl and later committed suicide in Delhi’s Rohini area. An official gave this information on Saturday. The official said the teenager is undergoing treatment and her condition remains critical.
According to the police, the police control room received information regarding the slitting of throat of a 19-year-old girl in Sector-24, Rohini, following which a police team reached the spot.
A senior police officer said that the injured girl, a resident of Rithala, was admitted to the BSA hospital, where she is undergoing treatment. Initial inquiry revealed that accused Amit, a resident of JJ Colony, Sector 25, Rohini, also committed suicide by hanging himself in the office of ‘Creative Concept Design’, a company run by his sister and brother-in-law (Anil).
The victim girl is an employee of that company, the officer said. During further enquiry, it was revealed that Amit (now deceased) was also working as an exhibition stall designer in the same office and was in unrequited love with the girl, who avoided him and stopped talking.
Around 3 pm on Friday, Amit attacked the girl with a knife and tried to slit her throat but was saved by other people in the office.
When the office staff was taking the injured girl to the hospital, Amit locked himself in a room and committed suicide by hanging himself, the officer said.
Crime and forensic teams were called to the spot and photographs were taken from different angles, the officer said. Amit’s body has been shifted to the mortuary of BSA Hospital. Further action is being taken.
