Corporation seals Oyo hotel, woman accused of running sex racket

Bilaspur. The Municipal Corporation has taken action against an Oyo hotel operating in a house on Bahtarai Road in Sarkanda. The house has been sealed, alleging commercial use of residential premises. Residents had also complained to the district administration and the Municipal Corporation, alleging suspicious activities were being conducted in the building under the guise of an Oyo hotel.
According to reports, a woman named Gayatri Kedia was operating the Oyo hotel in this house, causing problems for the surrounding residents. Residents reported that suspicious individuals visited the hotel daily and engaged in suspicious activities, beginning in the morning and continuing late into the night. Several attempts were made to close the hotel, but the woman who operated it refused to budge.
Finally, the residents were forced to file a complaint. The Municipal Corporation, after investigating the complaint, determined that the building was a residential building and could not be used as a hotel under any circumstances.
On Thursday, Pramil Sharma and Shiv Jaiswal, in-charges of the Municipal Corporation’s anti-encroachment squad, arrived at the house with their team. Upon inspection, they found the owner operating an Oyo hotel. The team then immediately sealed the house, making it clear that commercial activity cannot be conducted in a residential area.
