Corporate couple living and working in Manali

A corporate couple has gone viral on social media after they shared how their decision to move from the city to Manali for remote work helped them save over ₹30,000 per month.
Anjali and Naman, who share their experiences on Instagram under the account @anjali.aur.naman, said they never moved to the hill town to cut expenses. Instead, they wanted to embrace a slower pace of life while continuing their corporate careers remotely.
In a viral video, Anjali said, “We accidentally started saving over ₹30,000 per month without even trying. Hi, we’re Anjali and Naman, a remote corporate couple living in Manali. We didn’t move here to save money; we came here to experience slow travel while maintaining our corporate jobs.” How they save over ₹30,000 per month
The couple explained that the biggest reduction came from household expenses. Their monthly rent in the city dropped from ₹45,000 to ₹28,000 in Manali, saving ₹17,000 per month. Working remotely also eliminated daily commuting expenses, helping them save another ₹3,000. Furthermore, regular city expenses on office dinners, coffee runs, and snack breaks were significantly reduced, reducing their monthly budget by approximately ₹7,500.
Another unexpected saving came from weekend travel. While living in the city, the couple regularly spent ₹5,000 to ₹6,000 per month on short vacations to escape the hustle and bustle. After relocating to Manali, surrounded by mountains and nature, they no longer felt the need to go on such trips.
“We chose to live differently”
Anjali emphasized that saving money was never the goal.
He said, “We didn’t choose remote work to save money; we chose it to live differently. The savings were just a bonus.” Internet Reaction
The video has resonated with thousands of social media users, sparking discussions about the hidden costs of urban life, the financial benefits of remote work, and the growing trend of professionals moving to smaller cities for a better work-life balance.
