Copper futures fell to Rs 818.15 per kg

Business: Copper futures on Monday fell 0.53 per cent to Rs 818.15 per kg as participants reduced trading volumes due to weak demand in the domestic market. On the Mercantile Exchange (MCX), copper contract for October delivery fell Rs 4.35, or 0.53 per cent, to Rs 818.15 per kg with a turnover of 6,758 lots. Analysts said the fall in copper futures was mainly due to lower trading by speculators on weak demand in the spot market. Aluminium futures fell Rs 1.25 to Rs 228.35 per kg as participants reduced trading volumes due to weak market. On the MCX, aluminium contract for October delivery fell Rs 1.25, or 0.54 per cent, to Rs 228.35 per kg on sale of 2,908 lots.
