Controversy over ‘Toxic’ teaser.. Women’s Commission enters the fray!

Kannada star Yash’s upcoming film ‘Toxic’, directed by Geethu Mohandas, is currently embroiled in controversy. It is known that the film’s teaser was released recently by the film crew. However, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders have filed a complaint with the Karnataka State Women’s Commission alleging that the teaser contains obscene and objectionable scenes. AAP state secretary Usha Mohan has stated in this complaint that the scenes in the teaser are likely to have a negative impact on the mental health of children and has demanded that the teaser be removed from social media immediately.

Taking this issue seriously, the Women’s Commission immediately stepped in. It wrote a letter to the Censor Board asking it to thoroughly examine the objectionable scenes in the teaser and take appropriate action. It also ordered a full report to be submitted on the matter. The film, which is being made with the subtitle ‘A Fairytale for Grownups’, is receiving a lot of criticism due to the intimate scenes in the teaser.

However, director Geethu Mohandas responded to these criticisms in a somewhat harsh manner. She clarified that she is not at all surprised by the comments coming in asking how she, as a female director, shot such scenes, and that she takes the criticism very lightly.
