Contract laborer injured in BSP, back broken after being hit by crane

Durg. A major accident took place in Bhilai Steel Plant. While working here, a contract laborer got hit by the hook of a crane. Due to this he suffered serious injuries on his chest and waist. It is being told that the worker’s back is broken. He has been admitted to the ICU of Sector-9 Hospital.

According to BSP, the accident occurred at around 10.30 am in the finishing area of Universal Rail Mill (URM). While working here, Babulal, a laborer of contract company Hitesh Bhai Patel got hit by a crane. It is being told that the accident occurred while hoisting the scrap bucket with a crane.

After this, this information was immediately given to the higher officials of BSP. An ambulance was called and the laborer was taken to the main medical post. After first aid there, he was sent to Sector 9 Hospital. The injured laborer is undergoing treatment in ICU. Here, the responsible officers of the URM department are busy in whitewashing the employee matter.
