Conrad K Sangma announces organisational changes for NPP Manipur unit

Guwahati: National People’s Party (NPP) chief Conrad K Sangma announced a major organisational revamp for the party’s Manipur unit as he formally welcomed newly appointed state president Lorho S Pfoze at a programme in Shillong on December 2.
Sangma, who also leads the Meghalaya government, used the occasion to outline the party’s renewed political strategy for Manipur. He said the revamped leadership structure would play a crucial role in strengthening the NPP’s presence across the state and enhancing coordination ahead of upcoming political challenges.
During the ceremony, Sangma also acknowledged key members of the updated leadership lineup. He named Rameshwar M Singh as leader of the legislative party and Loken Singh as the chief whip. Working presidents Noorul Hasan and Janghemlung Panmei were similarly recognised for their roles within the organisation.
The NPP, founded by late PA Sangma in 2013, began establishing its influence in Manipur during the 2017 assembly elections and further expanded its footprint after securing multiple seats in the 2022 polls.
After the programme, Conrad Sangma posted a message on Twitter to congratulate Pfoze. He expressed optimism that the reorganised state team would work with renewed energy and dedication to advance the party’s goals and serve the people of Manipur effectively.
