Complaint filed against DMK members for attacking woman near Pollachi

Tamil Nadu: A complaint has been filed alleging that DMK members engaged in vote-gathering near Pollachi in Coimbatore district attacked a woman over a dispute regarding pasting stickers on her house.

On Sunday night, DMK members were canvassing for votes in the Nallattipalayam area near Kinathukadavu. At that time, they tried to paste stickers on the wall of Nageshwari’s house. The woman objected and said, “The house we live in is rented; don’t paste stickers.” An argument ensued, and the vote-gatherers allegedly attacked Nageshwari and her husband, Pradeep. Nageshwari filed a complaint at the Kinathukadavu police station. The injured woman was treated at a private hospital in Kinathukadavu.

Kinathukadavu police are investigating the matter.

A video of a woman claiming to have attacked her while she was holding their young child is going viral on social media.
